David Cook and David Archuleta interviewed on the Today Show on NBC, Thursday, May 29, 2008 in NYC Meredith Viera is a Cougar for Cook! LOL Some have wondered if this is the whole interview. It is the entire interview in the studio. There is a little chatting on the stage with each David when they perform their individual songs. NOTE posted on Friday, May 30, 2008 In investigating things further, I have found that my NBC affiliate carries the first two hours of the Today Show 7-9 am eastern time. Then, it goes to Regis & Kelly from 9-10 am eastern, then goes back to the Today Show (with different hosts) from 10 am- 12 noon eastern. Usually, if something like the two finalists from American Idol are on the show, they make sure the performances are BEFORE 9 am for those who break to Regis & Kelly. Apparently not so this year. I didn't get the duet or continued interview of the two Davids on my local affiliate because of R & K. :( NOTE: There have been some comments questioning why David Cook said, "I will let you answer that first," when Matt Lauer addressed "the elephant in the room." Matt mentioned David Archuleta's dad and the reports of bad behavior, then said, "Did it distract you? And did you get caught up in it too?" I THINK Matt must have been looking at Archie when he said, "Did it distract you?" and then looked at David Cook when he asked, "And did you get caught up in it too?" That is why DC said to Archie, "I'll let you answer first." Matt Lauer posed the question to both of the guys and David Cook let Archie go first with his answer.
